What's on your dogs neck?

One collar, Two collars, Three collars ... More?  It is no longer necessary to load your dogs neck up with hunting, tracking and/or training collars.

Sporting and working dogs wear many collars but technology is allowing the features to be combined and your dogs neck is freed up from cumbersome multiple collars.  Even the dog owner need not carry extra remotes to handle multiple dogs or collar functions.

Garmin's new Delta Upland is the first 3 in one collar for pointing dogs featuring a remote training collar, locating beeper collar and a bark collar.  MSRP is $349.00.  When you consider beepers run $100.00, Bark collars run $80.00 the expandable remote is only $169.00!  You also get the option to get your dogs attention with a tone or a vibration!  Available Soon!

Trade in you old collars towards a new smaller system with combined features.

Positive Dog Training using an e-collar

Have you heard that dogs learn quicker with an electronic training collar?

Tri-Tronics, Innotek, PetSafe and other manufacturers have made this claim over the years.

Building the bond with your dog comes first and there is no getting around basic training.  You need to get to know your dog, what does he like? What natural instincts does he have?

Would an electronic collar help your dog learn quicker?  If your goal is giving your dog all the opportunities and training to reach the best of his ability, then yes an e-collar will help your dog learn faster and easier.  Your focus and timing are enhanced for better interaction with the dogs behavior when using an e-collar.  No longer are these devises designed to cause an association of discomfort with the particular behavior.  E-collars have non-stimulation options such as a tone or vibration.  The goal is to keep your dog focused on the command, whistle, hand signal etc. and keep him safe from hazardous situations.

Keep the enthusiasm going in your dog.  If something is not working, revise your tactics.  Old dogs can learn new tricks!  Happy Dog Training.

Tri-Tronics G2 and G3 Matching Instructions

Lots of dog owners use Tri-Tronics G2 and G3 dog training collars. Tri-Tronics enjoys 40+ years as the leading brand in e-collars due to their reliability and function. G3 systems are expandable and let users add another collar for a new dog or replace a damaged or lost component.  The non-expandable G2 trainers are also compatible with new G3 components.

Trainers who want more features, range or dog capability can upgrade their G2/G3 transmitter and use existing G2 or G3 collars with a new transmitter.  Collars that are lost are easily replaced. Some models expand to 3 collars, some 6 collars, ranges vary from 1/2 mile to 2 miles.  The matching process is simple. Matching instructions and links to Tri-Tronics replacement components below:

Matching Tri-Tronics G2, G2EXP or G3 Components
• Components should be fully charged.
• Set the transmitter intensity dial to a number, not a letter.
• Turn the collar on.
• Press and hold the collar button, then press and hold a continuous (red) button on the transmitter. Hold both buttons down for approximately 5 seconds until you hear two quick beeps. Release both buttons.
• To confirm a successful match, turn the collar back on, then press the continuous transmitter button. The collar light will glow solid confirming the match.

G2 or G3 collars that have lost their settings due to lack of charge i.e. the collar turns on but does not respond to the transmitter use this same method to restore compatability.  Maintenance of G2/G3 batteries is easy with the cradle charging system which reads the battery status.  Batteries are user replaceable and typically need to be replaced every 3 years.

Best e-Collars for Soft Dogs and Best e-collars for Determined Dogs

We always try to put the right e-collar in our customers hands.

E-collar training needs vary by the dog's sensitivity, training environment, the dog's natural instincts and the comfort zone of the dog handler.  It is not always a selection by brand; new is not always better than reconditioned.  Collar Clinic representatives have worked with dog training collars at least 11 years, some nearly 20 years.  We will listen to your needs and guide you to the right e-collar.

Soft dogs don't need high intensity and may do better with a non-stimulating option such as a vibration.  Determined dogs with a high prey drive will need the higher intensity options.

What's best for you and your dog?  Dog size, dog age, dog breed, dog behavior issues are all taken into consideration as well as the handler's preference in transmitter options.

Customer satisfaction regarding features, consistency and reliability put Dogtra and Tri-Tronics collars at the top of the list; e-collars start at $169.00.  Collar Clinic will discuss all the differences and options so you get the best e-collar for your needs.   We are also an authorized repair facility so you know you can maintain your investment.  Buy with confidence-30 day money back guarantee.  View our online Best Sellers
